With the initiative and support of Indian
Outreach Ministries, the Child Sponsorship program started in 1992 with
one handicapped child studying at Jawahar School. The boy used to come
to school and paid a great interest on education irrespective of many
disadvantages. The parents economic state forced them put him to
work in the market to sell tea to earn a little money.
The Sponsorship Program started for the Children
going to school to help the Children glow as they learn and become
educated adults.
This program has been a very successful and
blessing for 100's of children and families. The children are
selected for this program from the students of Jawahar. The ability of
the student to continue and finish the school, regularity and economic
aspects are considered.
The Child is provided everything he/she need to
attend the school like, uniform, books, pens and pencils. The
child is also provided transport to school to attend safely and
regularly.
Most of the Children receive a special gift in
the year either at the birthday or at Christmas time or both from the
Sponsors.
A good-meal is provided to the Child at the
school. The menu of the meal is designed to provide egg and
fruits once in a week. Meat and Chicken are served only on special
occasions once in a month.
The major focus of the Child Assistance program
at Jawahar is Education and focus on their personal life. A quality
education is given in the healthy and clean environment of Jawahar
School.
Above all, all the children are exposed and
encouraged to attend Children's Ministry activities at the School
specially designed to encourage and educate the child in spiritual and
moral aspects of life.
